Formal Definition

A snapshot can usually be described in one of two ways. In photography, a snapshot is defined as a photo that has been "shot" spontaneously and quickly. Wikipedia goes on to say that snapshots are commonly considered to be technically "imperfect" - out of focus or poorly framed. The second definition stems from the world of computing where a snapshot is simply the state of a system at a particular point in time.

I didn't look into the formal definitions for the word "snapshot" before naming this blog, but I did have an idea for what I wanted to post here. I think (and hope) these ideas will align well with both definitions. It would be impossible to get a full picture from these small blocks of text; they will be just be little pieces of experiences happening at the time. While I cannot say that my posts will be perfect, I promise to do my best to make sure that they are not out of focus or poorly framed.

I have been wanting to start something like this for some time; mostly to have a place to collect my thoughts and write about my current interests and other day-to-day events. I imagine future posts might include some of the following topics: software development and architecture, technology, photography, biking, travel, music - but really it could be anything.
